I recently read an article about fall decorating and the first idea was to hang a $150 wreath on your front door. I will never ever spend $150 on a wreath! Since I’m a real person with a real budget, I figured I’d round up some Fall decorating ideas you can actually afford.

Fall is the perfect time of year to take the things that you can find around the house and turn them into something special.

1. Lovely Leaves

Fall is a giving season. There are so many natural elements that you can put to use. Leaves are the perfect material for creating fall decorating ideas you can actually afford.

Leaves are a great example. They are so colorful and free! Key word being free. String them into garlands. Press them into frames. Scatter them around a centerpiece. Add them to a wreath (that doesn’t cost $150).

2. Pretty Pumpkins

Pumpkins are especially affordable if you grow them yourself. You can use them as candle holders, centerpieces, or porch decor. Put them anywhere!

3. Acorns

Hang acorns on branches as ornaments or string them into garland. You can glue them to old napkin rings, too. Acorns can be used for just about anything in your fall decorating.

4. Wheat

Wheat can be woven together to create some awesome wreathes. Add a few fall foliage accents and you have a wreath worthy of your front door that didn’t cost $150!

5. Apples

Float apples in water with candles for a fall centerpiece. A nice pile of apples with acorns, leaves, and other fall goodies make a beautiful centerpiece. Apples aren’t just meant for bobbing at Halloween parties anymore!

Gather colorful Indian corn with twine to create garland. There are tons of different types of Indian corn that makes perfect decoration to use as a centerpiece on the coffee table or dining room table. Fill jars with candy corn to add color to your home.
