Our 5 Favorite Single Wide Mobile Homes for Sale in April 2019

5 single wides for sale april 2019

This month’s 5 favorite single wide mobile homes for sale come from sites such as Craigslist, Zillow, and our friend Steve’s facebook groups, Manufactured Housing and Manufactured Housing and Mobile Homes.

We’ve chosen homes from sea to shining sea: Maine, Oregon, South Carolina, Virginia, and Mississippi. Prices start at $6,500 and end at $44,000.

Finding single wide mobile homes for sale is so easy these days with the world wide web. We have a hard time narrowing down the ones we like best!

This 1986 Zimmerman is one of Our Favorite Single Wide Mobile Homes for Sale

Our first find is this remodeled 980 sq. ft. Zimmerman single wide in Maine for $31,900. It has some updates, such as a new furnace and new flooring throughout, but still has that warm wood charm that was so popular in the late 1970s and early ’80’s model homes.

The fact this home’s paneling has never been painted makes it a rare find. The gorgeous faux wood beam ceilings are another rare treat.

A working fireplace is always a plus.

Typical feature of 80’s models was the built in stereo.

The aesthetics of this home are unique. The built-in fireplace to the unique garden tub surround and lowered light treatment are unusual.

Garden tub setups have come a long ways since the 80’s.

Yellow Bathtub Remedy

Like many bathtubs in mobile homes, this tub has turned yellow but it’s an easy fix that will take just a few hours.

The yellow is supposedly caused by an additive added to the plastic. There’s no way to reverse the yellowing but we found 3 tried and true remedies here that will make the tub look new again.

Easy Senior Living in Single Wide Mobile Homes for Sale

Mobile homes are the original tiny home and have been around for almost a century. They just don’t have the ridiculous price tag and are better regulated than the ‘tiny homes’ that are so popular today.

A covered porch helps to make a single wide look more homey.

Anyway, this 2 bedroom, 768 sq. ft. single wide is located in a 55+ park in Oregon and it is a beauty.

Listed for $44,400, it has been totally updated with new lights, flooring, and paint. It also includes a nice size porch for entertaining.

This Single Wide Would Make the Perfect Starter Home

If you live in Mississippi and want a turn-key mobile home, this 2014 Sunshine Presidential is a great choice.

With 1140 sq. feet this 3 bedroom is $35,000 making it $30 per square foot. Even adding the transport costs needed to move the home from its current location will still make well below $35 per square foot.

Don’t Let the Exterior Fool You

The old saying, “don’t judge a book by its cover” is relevant in this situation for this 3 bedroom single wide mobile home for sale in South Carolina. It has a $25,000 asking price.

As you can see below, the interior has been gutted and transformed into a gorgeous home that rivals any of the newer homes on the market today.

Admittedly, the asking price is a bit excessive, I’m sure the price could be negotiated.

    1. That could be one reason it’s so affordable? I’m not sure what each state’s laws are but typically 1978 is the cutoff but even then you can usually request an inspection. It’s all about structural integrity and condition of chassis.

I love all of these mobile homes, especially the ones with wood accents. I like the warmth, charm, and visual interest they provide. It really is incredible that for so cheap, mobile homes provide a nice, cozy home without the crazy price tags of residential houses!

    1. Hi Mary,
We’ve got plans to release a printed magazine but for now, it’s too expensive to have them mass printed. If you sign up for our newsletter you’ll be the first to find out when we do get the funds to print. Thank you!
