The farmhouse single wide we are bringing you today comes from Taylor and her husband who live in Florida. We were lucky enough to find her mobile home farmhouse on Instagram (be sure to follow her page!) and she was kind enough to agree to let us share their gorgeous home.

Taylor, her husband, and their toddler are the second owners of this 2011 Destiny mobile home. Sitting on 20 acres that they share with their family, they have been slowly updating the home over the past 2 1/2 years.

One Project at a Time

Whether you are remodeling one room or an entire mobile home, the two biggest challenges most homeowners face are time management and staying within budget. Which is why we love Taylor’s tip of only doing one “small” project every few weeks to month. Also, try and fit your projects into they budget whenever possible. The couple have been lucky enough not to have to purchase anything on credit, which really helps to take the stress out of a remodel!

With that being said, it’s important to create a nice balance between new and vintage, as well as adding pieces that bring the look together.

It’s All in the Details

We asked Taylor what some of her proudest DIY moments have been during this remodel and she tells us there are actually two. First, the faux brick accent wall that she used the German Schmear technique to complete. Although it took some extra time, it was well worth it.

The second would be the ugly brass chandelier that one of her patients was throwing out (Taylor is a full-time Hospice nurse as well as A+ decorator). She and her husband spray painted it black and it now hangs in the master bedroom.

The farmhouse theme continues into the bedroom and bath as well. The arrangement over the bed creates a gorgeous focal point for the room, and the chandelier completes the look perfectly.

Taylor’s toddlers room may not technically fit the Farmhouse look but it is absolutely adorable.

The attention to detail continues in the bath. Wall shelving and decor, as well as updated flooring to fit the theme, make the most of the small bathroom.

Taylor tells us that most of the projects throughout the home have ranged from $100-$500 with the exception of the flooring. However, she says her husband recently purchased her an 8’x10′ “she shed” to use for her decor storage. Being able to find inexpensive decor to change up a room is a great way to freshen up a space without doing a whole new remodel.

Farmhouse Single Wide Exterior is Charming

Even the outside of this home screams Farmhouse. From the grey shutters and trim, to the extra lights over the sitting area, the whole look is just delightful.

Taylor says living in the farmhouse single wide has given them the financial freedom to customize the home to their family’s needs and preferences, which is what Mobile Home Living is all about! However, she does offer some advice if you are considering purchasing a mobile home:

Be sure to buy a GENTLY used mobile home. Also, don’t be afraid to have someone look over your potential home before you buy it. And finally, don’t worry that you will go broke or go into debt by living in a pre-owned mobile home.
