Throughout the year, while we are searching for mobile homes for sale, we always find ourselves saving homes that catch our eye to share with our readers later. This 1973 double wide has been on our list to share since 2022 and showcases what it means to strip a home down to its bones and give it an update.

Designed for Entertaining

Everything about this home is new, from the plumbing to the electricity. The owners even replaced the subfloor before installing plank hardwood floors.

Considering the finished look, it’s hard to picture what this 1973 double wide initially looked like. With recessed lighting, drywall ceiling and walls, and a modern kitchen, this home offers the ultimate entertainment space.

The kitchen is the perfect combination of modern and functional. It offers abundant cabinet storage, clean lines, and stainless steel appliances. The open floor plan perfectly blends the spaces.

The island doubles as a breakfast bar.

When the owners decided to take this home down to the studs and renovate it, they considered its location in a 55+ park and set up the new floor plan accordingly. By choosing to make two primary bedrooms with en-suite baths, they made this the perfect home for older folks who had friends and family come to visit.

Wonder what the original floor plan looked like?
Both bedrooms offer en-suite baths and walk-in closets.

1973 Double Wide Gets Fresh Look too

The exterior received a fresh makeover, including a new composite deck with built-in planters, board & batten siding, enhanced landscaping with fresh rock additions, and roof overhangs on both sides, all contributing to its attractive curb appeal.

Love the finished look.

Rather than tearing down this older 1973 double wide, the owners were able to renovate it into a stylish and modern home that will stand the test of time. Homes like this are the inspiration that all mobile homeowners strive to accomplish with their own spaces. Whatever you envision for your own older mobile home, you can make it happen!
