Through the years, we have seen thousands of mobile home remodels, but this 1977 mobile home project has to be one of the most dramatic we have ever shared. Located in California, this home has a listing price on Zillow of $154,900. Take a look at the listing:

The current owners did a wonderful job on this project and there are so many features to love about the finished look we are sure it won’t be on the market for long.

Small Home That Feels Big

At only 960 square feet, this 1 bedroom/2 bath double wide feels anything but tiny. The open floor plan, the abundance of natural light, and the white backdrop make this home feel huge. This 1977 mobile home appears to have been stripped down to the bare bones, then remodeled.

Three sets of french doors added to the massive front porch open up into the entryway, bedroom, and living room. Although there is no way to know what the interior of this 1977 mobile home looked like before, there’s no doubt that walls were removed, recessed lighting added, and a state-of-the-art kitchen installed, just to name a few of the upgrades. The only remnants we can really see of the original home may be the built-in that is in the entryway.

One of our favorite tricks to change the look of a room is one that the owners of this 1977 mobile home used, adding wainscoting to break up the walls. To take it one step further, painting the top half of the walls would be an easy add even more contrast. Bathrooms can be big projects, especially in older mobile homes. However, the owners did a great job paying attention to detail with the addition of the soaking tub and the surrounding tile. Looks like they are still adding finishing touches such as a mirror over the vanity, but we love what they have accomplished so far.

We are a sucker for a big porch so of course, that was the first thing that drew us to this remodel. Add some porch furniture and it’s the perfect spot to spend a Summer evening.

Obviously a complete gut and remodel job isn’t in everyone’s budget. However, dramatic updates like this one are a great reminder that manufactured homes have all the same potential as any stick-built home. So whether you are tackling one room or the whole home, the possibilities are endless.
