I never realized how much I liked them until I bought my very own, and now I pay attention to every mobile or manufactured home I see. There are so many different styles! The newest style I have fallen head over heels with is what they call “Park Model Homes.”

Park Model Homes

Park Model Homes, as we know it today, came out a couple years ago, and they are super cool because some have an upstairs. Remember the “History of Mobile Homes” post I did a while back? In that post, I spoke of 2 story mobile homes that had come out in the 50’s (there’s a picture of 2 in the post). so the 2 story concept is not new. However, this is a revised version of those vintage mobile home designs. The modern Park Model Homes are smaller than the originals from the 50’s, and I’m sure that’s due to transporting laws.

Park Model Homes are named such because they are considered a recreational vehicle and are transportable and primarily designed for long-term or permanent placement at a destination where an RV or mobile home is allowed. That may have been the initial idea, but they are found everywhere now. The best part about park models is that WE can look at them and get lots of great ideas for remodeling.

Here are a few photos I was able to find:

Imagine remodeling your single wide into this! WOW!

Here’s a single story Park Model Home. Prices usually start around $21,000 so they are very affordable.

I think they are a great inspiration for window placement and siding combinations. The owners above used rock as underpinning, giving the home a beautiful visual anchor.

Park Model Homes Interior

The homes seem very roomy inside based on the photos. There would plenty of room for a single person or a couple. A bedroom is usually situated upstairs.

I would recommend an addition for more than two though. Here are a few interior photos:

Park model homes are perfect for just about anyone that is looking for a smaller home that is still stylish. They are affordable and can be sited just about anywhere. You can custom order them and get the exact features that you want, too.
