Mobile Home Decorating Ideas from Mobile Home Living

I get so tired of seeing home decorating ideas that I can’t afford and that doesn’t take into account my type of home. That frustration lead to this ebook – it’s an inspiration book full of mobile home decorating ideas that are actually useful and affordable for the average homeowner.

I don’t live in a NYC penthouse or a 4000 square foot home, so why are they the standard for home design and decor? You don’t have to be millionaire to want a beautiful home!

I hope you find the rooms inspiring and the information helpful!

You can download the ebook to your computer by clicking on the save button in the top right with the down arrow. Be sure to tell your friends and family, it may come in handy for them!

As always, thank you so much for reading Mobile Home Living!

Crystal Adkins

I'm Crystal Adkins, the creator of Mobile Home Living, and I hope you've found the mobile home remodeling ideas, decorating inspiration, and repair help you've been searching for. Please consider letting me feature your remodels, room makeovers, DIY projects, and home improvement projects. There simply isn't enough inspiration available for mobile homeowners and I want to change that. Together, we can show the world that factory-built homes are as beautiful as any other at half the cost per square foot. Thank you!

    • Hi Patty,

Kilz Primer is the favorite primer. Opinions differ on paint, but most will agree that you get what you pay for. Buy the best you that you can afford. You may want to research information from paint professionals. I like Valspar but don't like Glidden. Everyone has differing opinions.

      Best of luck!

  • Crystal what a bonus this is. There are so many mobile homes and parks but like you said not enough information about remodels and what works and what doesn't. I am in the process of remodeling and will be submitting photos of my accomplishments sometime in the coming year. I have a 800 ft square, single wide mobile that is actually bringing me a lot of fun and creative challenges. Keep up your good work with this effort.

    • Thank you so much, Christine! I love to share beautiful homes! I appreciate you reading MHL and look forward to hearing from you!

  • I'm so glad that someone is seeing that there's a lack of info geared towards mobile home living. But what I need is info that addresses the problem of weight, thickness of walls, etc. when renovating these homes. Standard doors don't fit, walls are too thin to hang heavy objects, etc., and I only know this through 22+ years of aggravation! I'd love to see some solid info on these and other issues that will provide info on more than just the decorating (and fun!) part of reno. Thank you!

    • Hi Jenna!

There's lots of information scattered around here but I don't have the best organization - sorry about that. You can look under Archive to see all of our articles - there's lots of repair and remodel info!

Interior doors and bathtubs will usually need to be purchased from a mobile home supply store or you will need to modify them to fit.

A manufactured home still has studs, it's built with similar building techniques as a site-built home just in a factory and on a chassis, so whenever you hang something heavy you'll have to use the stud (there will probably be 12", 14" or 16" between each one). I've seen some hanging systems for sheet rock and such but I wouldn't trust them with anything heavy.

Hope that helps! If you have any specific questions just let me know!
