Cool Contemporary Decor Style Tips For Your Mobile Home

With most mobile homes we all know there is never enough space. That’s why the contemporary decor style is another great choice for a mobile home. In this article, we are sharing ways to incorporate this space-saving decor design into your own mobile home.

What Exactly is Contemporary Decor

According to The Spruce, Contemporary Decor Style is defined as:

Fundamentally, a contemporary style of decorating is defined by simplicity, subtle sophistication, deliberate use of texture, and clean lines. Interiors tend to showcase space rather than things.By focusing on color, space, and shape, contemporary interiors are sleek and fresh.

Sometimes confused with “modern design”, this design style isn’t cold and minimalistic, instead, it is warm and inviting by being uncluttered and light. Also, just like Scandanavian home decor, which we featured a few weeks ago, contemporary decor focuses on less is more, with neutral backgrounds and clean lines.

Let Your Furniture Make a Statement

Select contemporary style home furnishings that are statement-making conversation starters with smooth, clean, geometric straight lines. Think solid colors and finishes and natural materials.

For upholstered pieces in a contemporary living room, go for neutrals in textured natural fabrications like wool, cotton, and linen, and bring in pops of color with throws and pillows that steer clear of loud patterns. The goal is to keep the same color palette running through the entire space.

This living room combines all the elements of contemporary decor perfectly.
Less is more in smaller mobile homes.

Put a Spotlight on It

Lighting plays an important role in creating a contemporary decor style in your mobile home. Whether it be natural light, accent lighting, or ambient lighting such as track lights, be sure to focus on lights that work well with the lines of your furniture.

Love this space.
Track lighting adds to the ambiance of contemporary decor.

Mix and Match

By mixing different textiles and patterns you give your space contrast and dimension without making it too busy, which is key for contemporary decor style.  Use your upholstery, rugs, pillows, ottomans, and other accessories to give you that cozy feel. When choosing patterns for your mobile home remember that large patterns mix well with smaller prints as long as they stay in the same color family. The more variety in your patterns, the more comfortable and welcoming the space will feel.

This room is the definition of contemporary.
Inviting but not too busy.

The contemporary decor style is a blend of comfortable, livable pieces of furniture and decor that creates a sophisticated, fresh look and feel. Focus on color, texture, and clean lines to make the most of the smaller spaces of mobile homes.
