Michael Biondo’s Single Wide Mobile Home Remodel

August 2, 2013February 22, 2026 7 comments
Michael biondo’s single wide mobile home remodel

Michael Biondo is a lifestyle stylist and designer that has made headlines many times through out his career. One such headline on Naples News is regarding a single wide mobile home remodel he did for a client in Florida.

One Assignment Leads to Three

He had went to Florida on assignment to design Laura Grace’s new beach home. The job turned into a longer stay and he rented an apartment. That apartment was completely re-designed for under $2000 using Craigslist to hire labor and find materials and furniture as well as frequent flea markets in the area.

Laura Graces’ mother, Grace Langone, liked his work so much that she hired him to renovate a single wide that she purchased in Ft. Meyers. Her only guidelines were to use the same buttery yellow that he had used for his apartments guest room, make the home feel like a beach house on Captiva Island and, oddly enough, use a little inspiration from the Minnie Mouse house in Walt Disney World. She provided him a generous budget and then never set eyes on the home until it was completely finished.

He nailed it! This home is gorgeous and a perfect example of the potential that mobile homes have. At right around 900 square feet, this home is packed with style. Here’s the home before Michael worked his magic:

Michael was interviewed by Naples News, which is where I found out about the home. He told them that the worst part of the home was the windows because they were so dingy and dark. So, he replaced them with bigger windows to let the light open the space up. He also knocked down walls and moved the laundry to an outdoor building beside the home and laid out new flooring for both the home and the building.  He also replaced all the doors and used French doors to let even more light in.

Michael’s Tips to Remodel on the Cheap

Below are his top 3 tips:

  • Replace florescent lighting with a more natural light and install dimmer switches.
  • Paint the home in beautiful colors.
  • Use spray paint and sand paper to achieve the worn look on second hand furniture.

We would like to add a screened room to our mobile home. There is an awning already installed that will be the roof. Any ideas?

    Thank you!!

      Hi Lenora,

You will have to give the new room its own foundation and then build the floor and attach the wall frame to your awning. You can order the metal framing but I’d say wood framing would be a little easier to retrofit the walls to the awning. It really depends on the type of awning and the shape though.

I have always loved mobile homes. We are currently living in our third. We have had two houses and none of our mobile homes have given us the trouble the houses did. It is great to find this site with update photos. Our current home is hitting the age where it needs a bit of improvement. There are great ideas here and I get excited looking at the possibilities. Thanks

You will love this quite light, relaxing as well as redone Trick West style waterfront home in walking range to renowned Doc’s Beach House
(dining establishment, seaside chairs, playthings such as jet ski & paddle board).
