7 Living Room Decorating Styles that will Look Great in a Mobile or Manufactured Home

Modern Farmhouse

Modern farmhouse took the world by storm a few years ago. It’s definitely a favorite in this house.  Modern farmhouse embraces imperfection. Furniture is usually left to look new or painted in an accent color. White is often used as the base color so it’s one of the best living room decorating styles if you have a small home.

Melodie is a pro when it comes to interior design. She used the modern farmhouse style in her latest living room update.

Shabby Chic

Modern farmhouse and shabby chic are similar but there are a few noticeable differences. Shabby chic is all about distressed furniture and bright white linens while modern farmhouse likes to keep the furniture a bit more ‘new.’ Modern farmhouse style tends to be more minimal in its approach so decor is kept to a minimum.

Shabby chic is another perfect living room decorating styles for small rooms because white is an absolute must in the shabby chic world.

Rustic

Rustic has been one of the most popular home styles the past decade. It revolves around simplicity, utility, nature, and repurposing. There is no excess when it comes to rustic style. For instance, it would not be uncommon to see an old tree stump being used as a side table in a rustic home. In order to achieve this look select neutral toned seating if it has fabric. Dark wooden furniture is also popular, whether in the form of a bookshelf, chair, or table.

Industrial

Dark metallic accent pieces like frames and candle holders tie the room together to give it a completed feel if you are going for an industrial look.  Try using steel, glass and polished wood to pull together the industrial look.  Luckily there are many options of this available on furniture.ca.

Minimalistic Retro

Minimalism is another home decor that has been very popular the last decade. It is self-explanatory for the most part; it simply means no excess. Minimalism matches well with the retro/vintage theme so teamed them together.

When looking to redecorate your living room to the minimalistic retro style, look for furniture with straight lines that are raised off the floor with distinct legs. Throw cushions and other accents are not typical of the style.

Clean lines and pops of color pulls this minimalist retro look together.

Modern Traditional

Modern traditional is more of a catch-all for living room decorating styles. It’s the lighter version of minimalism where comfort is king. Color, light, and texture are important to achieve the modern traditional look.

Modern traditional is a great choice for your living room decorating style if you prefer a neutral base, such as cream, to build from. This could potentially mean having the walls a beige or natural color. From there you get to add in color with the furniture for the room. The trick is to keep it cohesive.

A bright or patterned piece of furniture like a couch should be brought in as a focal point, then accent pieces added to tie the room together. Cube shelves with colorful storage baskets are a popular look in the modern traditional style.

Primitive

Primitive is another one of those living room decorating styles that speaks for itself. It is a recall to the good ole’ days when things were made to last with wood and metal. Texture, especially wood and twigs, are a staple in the style. Three words says it all when it comes to the primitive style: salt box houses.

Tan, maroons, and dark gray is the most common colors used in the primitive style. If you like cozy and country, the primitive decor would be perfect for your manufactured home’s living room.

There are lots more living room decorating styles, of course, but these tend to be the most popular.
