Oh man, this Spartan is SPECTACULAR!

shabby-chic spartan remodel - exterior

This vintage mobile home is owned by Jennie Porter and was featured at Tiny House Swoon. Jennie states:

..I found this old trailer at a yard sale, gutted it and my mom and I remodeled it with the help of a few friends. I am obsessed with tiny living…

Jennie completely gutted the home and started anew. She rebuilt the home using common, easy-to-find materials that are fairly affordable. The end result is spectacular.

Hi Crystal, did Jennie ever finish the interior? I saw her Spartan last year on the site you mentioned and in the comments she mentioned that she would be adding plumbing and a bathroom in the summer. I would love to see the finished product. Thanks for sharing this cute Spartan.

      Hi Ellex!

I never saw an update though I would love to see how she ended up incorporating it all together!

WOW! very nice. I also live in a mobile home. I’m amazed at how much you can do with them and how inexpensive mobile homes can be to buy fix and keep. We found that the best buys re mobile homes that have been repossessed by banks. The bankers hate having too many in their inventory because it reflects poorly on their management abilities. As a result the lenders that have them are offering unusually generous prices and financing terms. Many folks that have been turned down by other lenders can be accepted for mobile home bank repos. there are lots of web sites that list repo mobile homes. Most charge a membership fee to browse their listings. I have been sending the folks I sell vacant land to http://www.mobilehomerepoman.com They don’t charge any fees to view the repo listings in most towns across the country.

I LOVE what Jenny did with the Spartan. I also love shabby chic. I just purchased a 1990, 420 ft. mobile home that I am working on. I hope I can make it as cozy and chic looking. Will send pictures as I complete projects. f

I agree – we need more information. Especially when it comes to space saving, organization, and who to turn to for such things as needing to replace hot water heaters, installation of a furnace. Some of us are not as handy and we need resources. Thanks for posting.
